Is APS Therapy the same as Tens?
No, Tens is a different electro-therapy device. Tens suppresses the pain and APS Therapy improves the condition of the body and stimulates the self healing power of the body. Where Tens suppresses the symptoms will APS Therapy offer a durable solution.
I use painkillers, can I also use APS Therapy?
In principle you can use APS Therapy without problems. Only the effect of the treatment is reduced by most of the painkillers. Some heavy painkillers like tramadol occupy the receptors of the nerve cells. APS Therapy needs these receptors to work and when receptors are taken they cannot be used for other purposes.
Tramadol is a painkiller which counted as opiate. An other option is switching from tramadol to NSAID’s (this can only be done in consultation with your doctor). NSAID stands for “Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs”. NSAID’s are used for breaking down inflammations and also have a painkilling effect and also can lower fever. These NSAID’s have less negative effect on the APS Therapy. Examples of NSAID’S are: ibuprofen, diclofenac and naproxen.
